Start Your Day Strong and Lean!

The most commonly skipped meal of the day is breakfast.  Even people who eat breakfast do not generally consume densely nutritious food.  A GREAT Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day.  After fasting all night, your body needs fuel.  If it does not get it, the body will access stored glycogen in the liver, eventually placing a lot of stress on that organ.  Also, studies show that people who eat breakfast burn more calories throughout the day than those who skip breakfast and lose more weight!

Keep in mind this is only part of the plan.  It is an important part but is really enhanced when it becomes part of the total eating and lifestyle makeover.

Breakfast Shake Recipe

8 ounces plant milk (organic soy, rice, almond or oat)
1 Scoop  Complete
1 generous pinch (reach in and grab size) which averages 1/3 cup
1 TBS Golden organic flax seed
1TBS Brewer’s yeast (if this causes gas, use less and work up)
1   Banana
1 ½ Cups Frozen or fresh berries of your choice
4-6 oz  Filtered water

GRIND, DUMP AND DRINK!
           DO NOT PRE-GRIND THE TEA OR FLAX
     DO NOT PUT THE TEA, FLAX OR YEAST IN THE
FREEZER OR THE REFRIGERATOR, RATHER IN A
CABINET AWAY FROM DIRECT LIGHT AND AIR.

In  begin in the blender with: 
Ice, banana, water and plant milk. 
Turn the blender on and once the ingredients are not hitting the top, take the lid off and add the scoop of Complete, the ground tea and flax and the brewer’s yeast.  That way the dry products do not stick to the sides of the blender.

The shake is 24 ounces, 450 calories, contains 14 grams of fiber, and is one serving.  It should not be made ahead.

Children--- divide by 2 or 3 depending on size of child.

If your objective is Weight Loss- DO NOT MODIFY THE TEA, FLAX, YEAST or COMPLETE- rather the type of plant milk and the amounts of fruit.  You may use oat milk, fat free organic soy or remove the plant milk and use strictly water.  Reduce the banana to ½ and berries only ½ cup.  Use ice as well.

Juice Plus Complete - a meal replacement drink mix that is recommended for use for breakfast.  Although it can be used as a snack or for pre or post workout recovery, it is not really meant to replace more than one meal per day because we recommend that a variety of foods be consumed each day.

Sea Vegetables - One of the best natural sources of trace minerals, especially iodine

Jerusalem Artichokes - Contain fructooligosaccharides, which help to repopulate and maintain the flora and fauna in the intestinal tract (the good bacteria)

Wheat grass - Excellent source of chlorophyll, densely nutritious

Soy Protein and Tofu Powder - One serving of Complete constitutes a serving of soy.  The soy in Complete is non-genetically modified (organic). The benefit of using Complete only comes from regular use and this is why we recommend it every day for breakfast.

Brewer's Yeast is best when bought in bulk because it is less oxidized and processed.  Brewer’s Yeast is the very best natural source of the B Vitamins on the planet.  Whether we are experiencing a busy day- stressful or otherwise, our bodies burn off the B vitamins quickly so it is important to replenish the supply. You will notice that if drinking the shake daily and practicing dietary excellence, you will have a much higher level of energy than ever before.  Your endurance during a workout will increase. Your overall emotional level will remain more balanced and you will see a decrease in the highs and lows. Your ability to absorb and retain information will be far greater as well.

Golden Organic Flax Seed - One of the most powerful foods for improving your consumption of Omega-3 Fatty Acids.  The flax seed is high in fiber and contain lignans, which are molecules with anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-cancer properties.  Only 2% of lignans end up in flax oil while 98% remain in the seed meal.  It is necessary to grind flax seeds prior to eating because the hull is so hard it will just go through the system if not ground.  Only grind what is needed at the time you are going to consume it!
